The Indian Summer arrived as promised with absolutely fantastic weather on all four days, a record 30,000. Fans and spectators turned up to enjoy the very best of Drag Racing competition between over 300 Teams.

With 10 TOP FUEL TEAMS competing Fans were treated to an awesome display of power and speed in both the qualifying and elimination rounds, racing on Sunday secured the 2006 Championship for Haken Nilsson and produced a new European Record set by Urs Erbacher.

In 1st round qualifying on Friday SMAX produced a stunning run of 4.97 sec 296 m.p.h. placing the Mcdonald Racing Team car in second position, in the 3rd round on Saturday SMAX had a brilliant start and was set for another high speed run but a clutch failure at half track prevented us improving on our first run time which had secured us into 4th qualifying position for the elimination rounds on Sunday

THE McDONALD RACING BAD NEWS !

Following an engine rebuild on Saturday afternoon it became apparent that the damage was too extensive to get the car back into a competitive state for the elimination rounds on Sunday forcing us to retire from the event.

The McDonald Racing Team would like to give a very big THANK YOU to all the fans for their support throughout the whole season, it was a pleasure to see so many of you when you visited us in our pit with your messages of encouragement. We look forward to seeing you all again at the F.I.A. Main Event 2007.
